2012!

Well the New Year has arrived and I am very excited about what we have in store for 2012! I am needless to say getting very anxious to start getting back out and playing some shows. I already have a handful booked up through March and am always in the process of getting more shows down in the books. I miss seeing all of my incredible, amazing, beautiful, intelligent fans/friends. Jim and I made a handful of Nashville visits over the holiday break and they all went extremely well. The meeting with Sony Records back in mid-December was a really awesome experience. No contracts were signed and nothing crazy happened, but it was inspiring to just get a foot in the door. I am very blessed by how well all of the meetings in Nashville have gone and how well we’ve been getting received by the people on the other side of the desk. I sure do have a lot to be thankful for.
At times it gets frustrating because I want everything to happen right away but realistically, for the little over three years that Jim and I have been at it, things could not be moving along at a more ideal pace. We’re doing everything we need to be doing in an effort to get this little dream into a position to really become something.
School is back in session as well and I am uncharacteristically excited about the semester. It is my final semester in college and I want to go out on a high note. The classes I’m taking, though they could be potentially painful, are on subjects that I am really interested in and will be very useful once I get out. I really love the University of Tennessee and have absolutely fallen madly in love with the city of Knoxville and all the incredibly people I have met since coming here. Knoxville and the whole college experience have been so great to me. My music, career and all the things that I aspire to do would almost be nonexistent if not for the people and the city of Knoxville.
Jim and I have also been writing back and forth with songwriters from various publishing companies in Nashville and have gotten a couple of brand new songs that are almost finished up that I cannot wait to get and play for people. There aren’t many things that I love more than showing off a brand new song I’ve written. You all will be hearing them in the very near future!!
Again, I cannot wait to get back out and start playing! My first Knoxville show of the New Year will be this Thursday, January 19th at Wild Wing Café! Show starts at six! I love you all and will be talking with you soon!
